The planting season is fast approaching and with April almost over May promises to be a busy month. So please ensure your slow moving vehicle signs are clear and visible and your hazard lights are working. Please practise safety first out there on the road and in the field.

The Children’s Farm Safety day is back again this year! Mark July 6th on your calendars! This year it will be held in Forest at the Shores Recreation Centre. Pre-registration is required – please check our website for more details.

LFA is putting a group together to attend Advancing Women’s Conference on October30 & 31 in Niagara Falls! If you are a woman in Agriculture, and would like to join our group to get the discount and get in touch with others, and enjoy an amazing conference, email Christina at [email protected]. To learn more on the advancing women’s conference go to www.advancingwomensconference.ca and look for AWC East 2017. This conference is a fantastic learning and networking opportunity for producers, government and professionals in Ag Business!

The LFA has been working hard for the local farmers on issues such as the Lambton County Draft Official Plan, the rural property tax increase, and the proposed Sarnia transportation levy. If any of these are your concerns we encourage you to reach out to your municipality, an LFA director or your MSR.
