Teaching children to think about farm safety is the goal of the Lambton Farm Safety Association.

The group recently held their annual Progressive Agricultural Safety Day in Alvinston. Approximately 130 children attended to see presentations on hydro safety, lawnmower safety, flowing grain hazards, sun and weather safety, emergency response planning, coping with accident disabilities, tractor safety, and a 911 simulation.

Participants enjoyed games, snacks, and lunch with a take home bag that included t-shirts and hats. Tracey Cross spoke to the group sharing her son’s tragic death due to a farm accident and the day concluded with a PTO demonstration by Farm Safety consultant Ron Jones.
