Diane O’Shea B.A., B.Ed., M.Ed., P.H.Ec.: A Professional Home Economist, specialized in sociology, health promotion and education.

Diane’s knowledge of food and interest in food literacy stems from total immersion in Home Economics and Agriculture.Alongside her husband, Diane was a hands-on business partner in O’Shea’s Vegetables and Berries, a 40-year venture entailing farm-gate retail and Farmers Markets.

Diane taught HS Family Studies for 20 years in the Thames Valley District School Board; retiring in 2017. Since 2007, Diane has been the lecturer in pre-service Family Studies education at the Faculty of Education, Western University.

From curriculum writer to international conference speaker, from 4-H Ontario work to Ailsa Craig Food Bank, Diane continues to lead – now as Co-chair of the Ontario Home Economics Association.

Diane holds a Master of Education in Home Economics. Recognitions include Bishop Townsend Award for Educator Excellence, the Adelaide Hoodless Award of Excellence in Family Studies Education and the Ontario Agri-Food Education Teaching Award.

Mom to 4 and Grandma to 4 kids; Diane and her husband, Mike, reside in St. Marys, Ontario.
