LFA Monthly Meetings

Lambton Federation of Agriculture welcomes OFA members to sit in as a guest at the monthly board meetings. Please remember if you would like to speak to contact Christina at the LFA office to be added to the agenda.

Premier’s Award for Agri-Food Innovation Excellence

Applications for the 2014 program are being accepted from January 10 to February 28, 2014. The program recognizes innovators who contribute to the success of Ontario’s agri-food sector. Eligible applicants could receive one of

  • a Premier’s Award ($75,000)
  • a Minister’s Award ($50,000)
  • three Leaders in Innovation Awards ($25,000 each)
  • 45 provincial awards ($5,000 each)

Program applications will be reviewed by two independent panels made up of representatives from across Ontario’s agri-food industry. Before you fill out the application, we recommend you read the guidebook. Complete the online application or download the printable application. Please use the checklist to ensure you submit a complete application. Submit your application postmarked no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2014.

Putting Your Best Farm Forward Workshop

On February 20th, at 7pm Sue McLarty from Farm and Food Care will facilitate a workshop in how to best accomplish this goal. Producers, Board Members, and those employed in the agricultural sector will find this seminar helpful and relevant, particularly as they navigate the modern Social Media environment. Cost is 15 dollars and pre-registration is required. Contact Christina at the LFA office.

Lambton AGLink is looking for a New Logo!

The Lambton AGLink is running a contest to find a new original logo created by a Lambton County resident. Submissions will be accepted from February 1st to March 10th, so get your creative juices flowing and start working!
