Petrolia, Ontario – Lambton Federation of Agriculture to hold Virtual Annual General Meeting on the evening of January 15 2021.
During the meeting, the Lambton Federation of Agriculture will also be presenting one of the two available Lambton County Warden’s Scholarships.
The Lambton County Warden’s Scholarships are awarded to applicants who are current or former Lambton County residents, registered in a masters or doctorate program in the area of agriculture or related discipline, with preference given to students focusing on Sustainable Agriculture & Food Systems.
The scholarship funds were established from the proceeds of the 2019 Warden’s Charity Picnic.
Typically each year, the Warden of Lambton County hosts a Warden’s Charity Picnic, an event that provides networking opportunities for local municipal politicians, neighbouring political representatives and other officials who work closely with Lambton County Council and staff. The event has a small golf tournament, a ‘spouses tour’ and a banquet dinner with raffles, silent auctions, etc. Each year the Warden chooses a charity that benefits those in Lambton County as the recipient of the funds raised from the event.
Other highlights of the Lambton Federation of Agriculture Annual General Meeting include Guest Speaker Cathy Lennon, General Manager of the Ontario Federation of Agriculture, election of new directors for the Lambton Federation of Agriculture board, and ratification of constitutional changes.
OFA Members in Lambton county are encouraged to register by January 11 in order to be able to vote.
- Guests and Observers are also welcome to register.
