Farms across Canada vary in size, what they produce and how many people they employ. But like all other workplaces, there are safety hazards that need to be addressed in order to prevent injuries and save lives. This week is Farm Safety week, take a moment to have a look around your farm and make sure safety is a priority for all.

On Tuesday March 24th Lambton Farm Safety, the OPP and the Lambton Federation of Agriculture will be hosting a Road Safety Seminar featuring Sargent Ives. It starts at 11:30 am at the Wyoming Legion and includes lunch. Pre-registration is required by contacting [email protected] or calling 519-864-4224. Lambton Farm Safety will holding a slow moving vehicle sign exchange. Bring your old sign in, and receive a new one. One per FBR and the old sign must be handed in.


The Lambton 4-H would like to send out a big thank you to all of their supporters of the Chili cook off. A great night was served up, and the night was a huge success.


The Lambton Agricultural Hall of Fame is currently accepting nominations for its 2014 induction. The nomination process is very easy – just visit lfawebsite.ca to submit it online! As well, The Hall of Fame is still accepting lifetime voting memberships at the cost of $25, and we invite businesses to support the Hall of Fame with a lifetime business membership at $100. Show your support for Agriculture in Lambton County and obtain your membership today. This wonderful program can’t continue without the support of the agricultural community. Applications are being received for the 2015 Premier’s Award for Agri-Food Innovation Excellence Program. Primary Producers, processors or agri-food organizations are invited to submit applications until April 10 2015. Full details are available at www.ortario.ca/agrifoodinnovation
