Lambton County put forth strong support for the ‘One Voice Rally’ at Queens Park, Toronto, on March 2, 2005. Eight bus loads, nearly 400 supporters, made the 12 hour round trip to Toronto.
The day was not without obstacles. Several of the buses were well behind schedule for the expected pick up time of 6:00 am. A winter storm during the previous 12 hours had some of the buses stranded in their parking lots. One farmer indicated he had been up at 4:30 am blowing snow out of his driveway in order to get to the rally. Another bus had mechanical difficulties and had to make a pit stop in London for minor repairs.
In the end, all 8 buses did make their way to Queens Park to participate in the rally. Initial feedback from some of our Lambton farmers attending the rally indicates that they consider the rally to have been very well organized and have been left with a positive feeling as a result of the rally.
For all the supporters who boarded the 8 buses from the 7 pickup locations in Lambton County, bus rides were provided free of charge as a result of generous donations from several groups and businesses in Lambton County.

There were very few empty seats on the 8 buses that left Lambton County. This crew left from the Alvinston Arena location. This display that was created just in front of the stage, while speeches were being made, definitely drew the attention of all the press!
