The Lambton Federation of Agriculture (LFA) is writing to express support for St. Clair Township and their objection to consent application for 2782 Petrolia Line, to consolidate 24.3 ha (60 ac) of agricultural lands with the Huzevka family farms, located at Concession 11 Part Lot 4, on Petrolia Line and to sever the surplus farm residence\ nursery \ dog kennel of 1.94 ha (4.8 ac).

The LFA wishes to advise that this request contravenes  the following bylaws:

  1. Section 1.12 d (111) that only 1 severance is allowed from an original farm lot.   This by- law is still in place and there has been a previous severance on this property.
  2. Section B 1.4 minimum lot size is 100a to support a severance, this proposal being 65a does NOT meet the requirement.
  3. Section 1.10 (f) states that secondary farm uses (in this case a dog kennel) will NOT be permitted to be severed from the farm lot. This proposal does NOT meet this by- law.
  4. Zoning by-law 17 the remaining farm lot on this proposal does NOT meet the required min. frontage of 492′  it will only be 230′
  5. This proposal does not meet the provincial Policy Statement (PPS) requiring 100a for a severance especially a 4.8a lot from a farm property.

Sincerely,

~Al Langford~
